Aluminium Scribing Tool

Old drywall is rarely straight, and standard trim work shows every gap along the baseboard. We build this scriber from aluminum alloy with an anodized finish so it handles rough masonry and sawdust without seizing. Twist the thumbscrew to change the angle, lock the pencil holder down, and run the guide along the surface.

What this one is built to do

Adjusting the joints

Loosen the nut, set the arms for parallel marks or wide arcs, and tighten the joints down. The setup stays rigid while you pull it along the drywall, so your line does not drift mid pass.

Anodized aluminum frame

We machine the main body from aluminum alloy rather than molded resin. The metal takes shop dust, drops onto concrete, and rides in an apron pocket without snapping at the hinge points.

Pocket clip on body

The frame carries an integrated clip that catches on a tool belt or work pants. It stays flat, so you can reach for it with one hand while holding a filler strip against the cabinet.

Tracing irregular edges

Scribe baseboards against wavy plaster, mark filler panels for built-in shelving, or transfer brick outlines onto flooring. The visible scale lets you reset the offset distance after you swap boards.
