Sending one back

A piece goes back the way it came, through the storefront that sold it. We can still help you work out whether it needs to.

The short version

We do not take parcels at this address and we do not hold the order that sent one. Our retail partner does both. Their account pages carry the window, the steps and the label for a piece bought there.

That is the whole procedure. Anything you read here about timing or condition would be our guess at their policy, so we leave it with them.

Worth checking before you start

A fair number of returns are a tool doing exactly what it was built to do, on a job it was not built for. A short bar bogging down in a trunk. A welder struggling at the end of a long thin extension cord. A gauge that will not slide because drywall powder is packed between the pins.

If any of that sounds close, write to the bench first. Half the time the fix is a brush, a shorter cord or a different piece from the same shelf, and the parcel never has to travel.

When it is the tool

A motor that will not spin, a switch that does nothing, a casting that arrived cracked: that is ours, and we want to know the model and what happened. It goes on the list that decides what changes on the next run.

The parcel itself still travels through the storefront. Telling us in parallel does not slow that down and it does change the tool.
