What this one is built to do
Hinges for odd shapes
The sections pivot so you can wrap the frame around fence posts, stair stringers, and plumbing runs. You read the bubble across corners that a straight bar cannot reach without a second pair of hands.
Clear blue vials
We set blue acrylic vials into the segments for level, plumb, and angled work. The liquid settles fast against the lines, which helps when you are holding a board with your knee and marking with a pencil.
Aluminum body and end caps
The body is oxidized aluminum to shed shop grime and resist surface rust. Tough polymer joints hold the angle you set, and rubber caps on the ends take the knock when it slides off the bench.
Folds into a block
Straight levels live on wall hooks because they fit nowhere else. This frame folds down flat into a rectangular stack, so it rides inside a standard metal toolbox beside your squares and tape without bending out of true.
