Handheld Welder, Eighty Rods and Helmet

A broken mower deck or a cracked gate hinge usually means hunting through the shed for gear before striking an arc. We packed this welder together with its auto-darkening helmet and a full bundle of rods. You plug into the wall, clamp the ground, and start laying bead.

What this one is built to do

Dialing the arc

A rotary dial sets your welding current for thin sheet or heavier scrap. Getting the heat right keeps the rod from sticking cold or blowing clean through thin tubing on old yard gates.

Looking through the hood

The helmet lens keeps true color rather than the old murky green tint before the arc flashes. Two sensors catch the light the instant you strike, switching the view dark without fumbling.

Adjusting the headgear

Ratcheting knobs on the band tighten down over a work cap. Soft padding runs across the brow, and the pivot holds the shell up when you lift it to inspect the bead with a wire brush.

What you supply

Rods, hood, ground clamp, and welder come together inside the carton. You bring your own chipping hammer, wire wheel, scrap steel to practice on, and a sturdy drop cord from the wall outlet.
