What this one is built to do
Carrying the pair
Having two matching units on the shelf means one stays by the garage bench while the other rides in the truck. Each welder fits in one hand, small enough to reach between fence pickets without fighting a bulky box.
Striking the arc
The inverter board inside starts the arc quickly when the rod taps clean metal. It holds a steady current across common carbon steel and iron stock, cutting down on spatter while you lay a bead along the seam.
Dialing the current
A single knob on the housing trims your output through multiple set speeds. You adjust the heat to match thin sheet patches or thicker plate, running narrow or standard rod stock without blowing through the base metal.
Cooling through the pass
Internal fans draw air through the vents to clear heat from the circuitry while you work down the rod. When the housing warms up during long beads, the thermal cutoff halts current until the board cools down.
