Setting up a compass or clamping straight boards takes up half the morning before the bit touches timber. We machined this guide from aluminum alloy so a compact router drops straight onto the plate. It runs circles around a center pin and locks along fences for clean grooves.

We cast and mill the plate from aluminum alloy so it sits flat without flexing under your hands. It mounts directly under a small palm router, keeping the cutter plumb while you track along marked stock.
The center pin arm drops in when you need to swing a circle or cut out a round insert. Pull the pin, and the remaining shoe runs straight down a board edge for standard slot work.
One side carries standard measurements and the other reads in metric increments. The marks are stamped right into the metal so pencil dust and sawdust wipe off without scrubbing the lines away over time.
The broad underside rides flat across solid timber, medium-density board, and rough plywood without tipping over the cut edge. You supply the palm router and the bit; the shoe tracks the path you set.
