What this one is built to do
Springs clear the dirt
A pair of stout springs pushes back as you pull the spikes from the turf. Dirt and thatch pop loose automatically, which keeps the bottom plate from jamming with wet clay between steps.
Spikes through hard turf
Pointed iron spikes bite straight into compacted ground under your boot. Each press opens deep channels so air and rainwater can travel past the hardpan down to the grass roots.
Bolted iron foot plate
We secure the wide foot bar with heavy bolts instead of spot welds. The joint holds rigid under your full weight while the thick iron tube takes the strain without bending.
Before you start walking
Dry ground will fight the spikes. Run a sprinkler over the patch the evening before you aerate and cut the turf down short, so the metal points drop straight to the dirt line.
